Most individuals arrested in Irvine are initially transported to the Irvine Police Department (IPD) for the booking process. During this time, required documentation, fingerprinting, and photographs will be completed. Arrestees are permitted to make up to three phone calls; however, they will not be able to receive incoming calls or have visitors

If an individual is not booked and released with a citation within a few hours, they will be transferred to the Orange County Jail in Santa Ana. Individuals arrested for public intoxication will be held in IPD’s sobering facility until they are deemed able to safely care for themselves, at which point they will be released.
