Victim Services
Crime victims have essential rights. Various resources and support services are available to assist during challenging times. The Irvine Police Department makes every effort to assign crime reports to a detective as quickly as possible, prioritizing severe cases.
Once assigned, a detective may contact you for additional information and will be your main point of contact throughout the investigation. If you need to confirm which detective handles your case, please call the Irvine Police Department front desk at (949) 724-7000.
In addition, we partner with dedicated victim advocates who can connect you to a wide range of services, including crisis intervention, emergency financial assistance, restraining order petitions, guidance through the criminal justice process, return of personal property, restitution support, crime victim compensation claims, court accompaniment, and witness coordination.
The Irvine Police Department has a designated police officer to liaise with the LGBT community.
