About Youth Services
The School Resources Officers (SROs) and D.A.R.E. Officers work in partnership with the Irvine and Tustin Unified School Districts. Every High School in Irvine, including Beckman High, has a dedicated SRO. Two SROs cover Irvine’s Middle Schools.
SROs are assigned to school sites as resources for students, parents, and school administration. Through law enforcement and education on many topics, the SROs directly link the Irvine youth community and the Irvine Police Department.
The Irvine Police D.A.R.E. Officers have special training in child development, classroom management, teaching techniques, and communications skills.
Officers use their training to provide sixth-grade students with education in the below areas.

Irvine Police D.A.R.E. Cybertruck
For over three decades, our D.A.R.E. officers have driven attention-grabbing and one-of-a-kind vehicles that never fail to turn heads and excite Irvine youth. IPD believes in the continual education of students and is one of only two DARE programs in the entire state.
